This transportation-anchored project is especially crucial as Trestles hosts the 2028 Summer Olympics. RSM Design, Community Catalyst, the City of San Clemente and Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley are working together to accomplish three goals. First, to encourage awareness and greater use of the railroad underpass, a safe alternative for Pier and beach access. Second, to minimize traffic congestion on Avenida Victoriawhere 2 million visitors a year arrive via SC Trolley, Metrolink, e-bike, automobile and foot. Third is to open the majestic view corridor to the Pier in keeping with the Pier’s origins. Look for an expanded waiting area for the SC Trolley, more seating and landscape solutions that open up the historic view corridor.
